About me

My name is Tijs Hol (he/him), I live in the Netherlands, and I am 29 years old. The only thing I love more than creating things, is inspiring and entertaining people with the things I create.

In the past, I always had a shared interest for computers and music. I've had piano lessons since I was six, where I eventually focussed mostly on jazz, improvisation, and composition. When I was 16, I wrote my first piano piece and created my first website - but before that, I had been playing around with GameMaker and creating my own music (without writing it down, unfortunately).

When I started my studies in 2013 I still retained both interests. I started studying electrical engineering, and a few years later joined a choir. This started my love for singing, as well as a love for academic-level electrical physics. I soon joined the Dutch student chamber choir (NSK) and started a masters degree.

During my masters, I started composing more seriously. The first live debuts of my work started showing up. In the meanwhile, I also was working on completing my computer engineering study. Right after the beginning of the COVID pandemic, I got my degree.

Now I have a job as a software engineer, where every day I apply my knowledge and skills in the field of computer science. But when I get out of work, I sing and play and write music as much as my sleep schedule allows me to. But still, every day, I long to inspire and entertain more people with the things I create.
